Concept Design of a Portable Carrot Seeder

A concept design of a carrot seeder, filed for patent application, was successfully developed in this study. Farmers were visited and interviewed the data regarding their existing practices planting carrots, corresponding tools equipment requirements such as hill spacing, row spacing plant bed size gathered. These used input preparation simulation seeder with aid Solidworks software.
 The consisted seed metering assembly, frame, ground wheels, skid, handle, power transmission, furrow opener covering mechanism. It has 5 discs between rows is adjustable. disc provided grooves on its periphery that can accommodate 2 to seeds. Draft force push device usage 10 kg-force. designed overall weight 12 kg.
